The Cross of Christ
The cross of Christ was necessary for our Redemption: Because man had offended God by his sin. Genesis 3:1-6, describes how by Adams transgression, sin entered into the world. Also Romans 5:12, tells us again how sin entered the world. According to Isaiah 59:1-2, sin separated man from God.
You see all men are accountable and are guilty of sin before God. See Romans 3:10 and 3:25.
Man could not, and cannot provide a perfect sacrifice for his sins and thus he was lost unless God intervened. See John 3:16 and Romans 5:8. God loved us enough to send His own Son as a prefect sacrifice for the sins of the world. 1 Peter 2:22.
Christ bore our iniquities as He died on the cross for us. Isaiah predicted this in Isaiah 53:4-6. Christ became the sin sacrifice for us so that we might be reconciled back to Him according to 2 Corinthians 5:21.
We must contact the blood which brings about cleansing for past sins. This is done when we are baptized into the death of Christ according to Romans 6:1-18. Saul was told arise and be baptized in order to wash away his sins as Acts 22:16, reveals to us that this is the mode of reconciliation back to the Father, through Jesus our King.
