The Resurrection of the Dead

Out of all the New Testament writers, the apostle Paul gives us the most information about the resurrection of the dead. His letter to the church in Corinth, the 15th chapter is totally devoted to this subject.

He starts out by reminding them about the gospel he preached to them. He told them; as he was taught the gospel by revelation from God, the most important point was Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection, and so he taught the Corinthians the same thing, that the most important teaching in the whole bible is the Lord’s death, burial and resurrection from the dead.

The Lord’s death and His resurrection from the dead, was both provable by the scriptures and by first hand eye witnesses. Those who died with Christ in like manner in baptism have risen from the water a new and sinless person, and have the promise that they too will rise in the resurrection of the dead on that great day of His return.

And that’s the core message offered in the gospel. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." Amen.
