Introduction

We continue with the subject, the graveclothes of Jesus. It was shown the shroud of Turin could not be what covered Jesus. The Jews wrapped the body, as was their custom, in linen strips.

  1. Desire to keep the body in the tomb (Matt. 27:62-66)

    1. Guarded the tomb

    2. Sealed the stone

    3. Made secure

  2. Cannot keep God from doing His will (Matt. 28:1-4)

    1. There was a great earthquake

    2. An angel of God rolled the stone away and sat upon it.

    3. The men became like dead men

      1. Some of the guard reported what happened (Matt. 28:11-15)

      2. They were paid to lie

      3. That His disciples stole the body of Jesus while they were sleeping

  3. The swoon theory

    1. Jesus fainted

    2. Revived in the cool of the tomb

    3. In the flesh

Conclusion:

No one stole Him from the tomb. And He did not faint. His graveclothes testify that He arose from the dead.
