The Graveclothes Of Jesus

Outline - Part 1

Introduction

Have you ever wondered why Jesus’s grave clothes are recorded in the Scriptures? I would say so false reports may be put to rest. His grave clothes prove He arose from the dead physically. We will discuss some falsehoods being told in the effort of discrediting His death and resurrection.

  1. The shroud of Turin

    1. The first time hearing

    2. Tests perform on it and others

    3. Claim that it has the face of Jesus

  2. The measurements of the shroud

    1. It is 14 feet 5 inches long and 3 feet 7inches wide

    2. A man 5 feet 7inches tall was laid on it.

    3. Body was laid lengthwise on its back on half the cloth

    4. The other half laid over him covering his face

  3. The Jews method of preparation for burial

    1. At the time of Jesus

      1. Wrapped strips of linen cloth around the body

      2. Lazarus (John 11:43-44)

    2. Jesus’s body was wrapped (John 19:38-40)

    3. John 20:1-10

Conclusion

If one wants to actually call the wrappings around the body of Jesus a shroud that is allowed. But NOT the shroud of Turin.
