Satan’s Tool Box, Part 2

As you know, I am on the emailing list of Doug Hamilton, preacher at the Junction City Church of Christ, Junction City, KS. I would like to share with you a two part sermon from Doug.

Satan’s Tool Box

Review from Previous Lesson

Paul wrote struggling Christians in:

Ephesians 6:12: "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."

The apostle emphasized to first-century Christians that the big struggle they had was not with the common folk of the world, but against the leadership and the spiritual forces behind them. Most of the time, the average person is not even aware of a hidden agenda of those at the top. Paul pointed out that we must understand the sinister leadership of these movements. Even though the devil is behind it all, Satan does use rulers, political powers and world forces of evil to carry out his will against the populace, specifically, the people of God.

In part one of [this] two-part series, we demonstrated, using the Bible, a pattern of the devil using governments like tools in a box, attempting to thwart the kingdom of God. There have been many governments [that] have been in the tool box of Satan over the years, including the Babylonians, Assyrians, Syrians, Athenian and Roman Imperialism. Presently, he is using Marxism in governments to accomplish his will.

The economic theory of Karl Marx, a godless German philosopher from a hundred fifty years ago, centered on [the] condemnation of capitalism. Marx taught that in a capitalist system, the [bourgeoisie] (the wealthy minority) would eventually be overcome by the proletariat (the working class). His theory taught there would then be transition through socialism and to revolutionary communism. Then and only then, he speculated, that the nation would evolve into communist utopia. It was an economic theory which has failed in every country [in] which it has been tried, for there is no utopia at the end of [the] Marxism Road.

As covered in the last lesson, since the 1960s, Marxists have successfully transferred [their] economic theory [from economics] to sociology, leading to many cultural movements we face today. In the first lesson, we examined Critical Race Theory (CRT) and its deep ties to Marxism, carrying with it, the universal Marxist [tenets] of anti-religion, anti-family, and anti-blessing perspectives.

Paul warned first-century Christians that they should not be ignorant of the schemes of the devil (2 Corinthians 2:11), lest their eyes be blinded and their destination be hell ([1] Corinthians 4:5). His words are just as relevant today in the lives of Christians.

Part II: Marxism and Humanism

As discussed, Marx was not friendly to religion, saying it "is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the feeling of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless circumstances. It is the opium of the people… The abolition of religion as the [illusion of] happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness" (Boer, 2016). He taught that with religion out of the way, society would be freed to reach their ultimate potential. This political movement found a natural partner with Humanism, making it potentially the most powerful tool ever in Satan’s toolbox.

What is Humanism?

The American Humanist Association (2021) defines humanism as "a progressive philosophy of life that, without theism or other supernatural beliefs, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good." It is the human-centered philosophy of complete independence from God, making it possible for man to finally shine on their own, possessing the answers to all of the world’s problems and being able to work toward utopia. "Humanism is a democratic and ethical life stance, which affirms that human beings have the right and responsibility to give meaning and shape to their own lives" (BBC, 2009). Simply put, Humanism is the belief that man can fully evolve and exist, completely void of theistic influence. Though Marxism has been around for around 150 years, Humanism has always been present. Man has been seeking to be independent from God throughout time.

Many Sought Independent Existence from God

Genesis 3:5: "For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
Genesis 11:4: They said, "Come, let us build for ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach into heaven, and let us make for ourselves a name…"
Judges 21:25: "In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes."
Daniel 4:30: "The king reflected and said, ‘Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal residence by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?' "
Romans 1:22,23: "Professing to be wise, they became fools, ²³ and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures."

Humanism has been around as long as humans and will be here until the end of the human race, for it is the natural tendency of man. It is through the tool of Marxism that Humanism is making its full assault on society. Those reading their Bibles have been past- warned [that] weaponized humanism would come, along with all her narcissistic fruit.

1 Timothy 4:1-3 (NIV): "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth."
2 Timothy 3:1-5: "But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. ² For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, ³ unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self- control, brutal, haters of good, ⁴ treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, ⁵ holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these."
2 Peter 3:3,4: Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, ⁴ and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation."
Jude 17,18: "But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁸ that they were saying to you, "In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts."

Nobody can predict when the end will come, but two things are very accurately spoken.

We are two-thousand years closer to the end-time
It is not going to be a pleasant time to be a person of faith. Humanism is now being weaponized with the power of Marxism, sending out her secular tentacles of activist groups, being endorsed [by] the "rulers" and "powers" of this world (Ephesians 6:12). The "prince of the power of the air" is moving strongly through the earth with a tool in each hand, Humanism and Marxism, threatening unsuspecting souls from the very highest levels of their organizations, having "a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof" (2 Timothy 3:5).

Jesus said in:

Matthew 7:15,16 (ESV)

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. ¹⁶ You will [know] them by their fruits."

How did Jesus say we would know them? BY THEIR FRUITS! If you simply go to the leadership of the movements of this world, we might see their fruits and be able to discern whether or not this [is] from Satan’s toolbox. Keep in mind, our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, the powers, the world forces of darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness. These "world forces of darkness" are putting forth a mandate of anti-religion, anti-family, and anti-blessing, all the while enriching themselves while others suffer. By discerning fruit, we can better understand the wolves behind the artificial fleece.

[NOTE] She is Jewish and her wife is a Rabbi, but was chastening Jewish parents who demanded the teacher’s union get back to [the] classroom instead of being in COVID lockdown for more than a year.

"We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human habitation,"
"Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make…The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years."
Within twenty years, "some 4 billion people, including 65 million Americans, would perish in the 'Great Die-Off.'" (Perry, 2020)

-Socialist Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

"The World is Going to End In Twelve Years If We Don’t Address Climate Change" (Crowe, 2019)

"He created them male and female."

-Ezra Brain, Trans Multi-disciplinary Activist (2021): "Gender is not, as these transphobes would like to claim, biologically predetermined. Rather, it is socially constructed. In its modern form, gender functions to maintain the capitalist system."

"Have many children and grow in number. Fill the earth and be its master. Rule over the fish in the sea and over the birds in the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

-People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals: "Only prejudice allows us to deny others the rights that we expect to have for ourselves. Whether it’s based on race, gender, sexual orientation, or species" (PETA, 2020)
-Harry Hay, Marxist Founder of U.S. Gay Rights Movement: "We oppose the rich getting richer, the poor getting poorer, and are in total opposition to wars of aggression and imperialism, whoever pursues them." (Feinberg, 2006)

-Martin Luther King

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." (1963)

-Patrisse Cullors, Founder and Former CEO of Black Lives Matter: "We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories. And I think that what we really tried to do is build a movement that could be utilized by many, many black folk" (Steinbuch, 2020)
-Charter of Black Lives Matter (Cape Charles Mirror, 2020): "We disrupt [, interrupt by causing a disturbance,] the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement [of] supporting each other as extended families and 'villages' that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable."

Note	After this fact was exposed, it was promptly removed from the website (Miller, 2020) and even though she resigned a few months later, her wife is still an International Ambassador for the organization.

In Conclusion

Just like Jesus said, "You will know them by their fruit." There are many sinister rulers, powers, and spiritual forces of wickedness in the world today. We have always had humanism, but today it is being fully-weaponized with Marxism. What is going to happen in the future to our world? Will there be a reprieve? Will God once again purge these tools from Satan’s toolbox? Nobody has the answers, but at least we are no longer ignorant of [the devil’s] scheme. In closing, consider the following Scriptures in light of Satan’s toolbox.

Colossians 2:8: "See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ."
1 Thessalonians 5:21,22: "But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; ²² abstain from every form of evil."
Romans 12:21: Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
