Why is That Man Smiling?

This week I’d like to share a few personal thoughts, if you don’t mind. I get ask a lot, “What are you smiling about?” The truth is sometimes I don’t even realize I’m doing it. Perhaps today you’ve noticed me smiling. Why? I’m smiling because I have plenty to be happy about. Many good things happened to me last week and I’m optimistic that this new week will bring even more things for me to grin about.

Here are just a few of the reasons I’m smiling:

  • Last week, I gained a new sister in Christ

  • I had the good health to be able to go to work every day

  • We had a healthy baby girl born into our church family

  • I attended a great bible class and heard an excellent devotional on Wednesday night

  • I was able to read my bible every day

  • I had the opportunity to visit a fellow Christian I haven’t seen in a while

  • I sat in the swing with my favorite girl on a warm spring evening

  • I had the opportunity to invite someone to church (and they came)

  • I was able to furnish someone with biblical information on how to become a Christian

  • God loved me so much He sent Jesus

  • I’m saved and will live with God someday

Now, why wouldn’t I be smiling? This week, take some time to slow down and think about reasons you have to smile. I guarantee that it will make you and those around you have a greater appreciation for the many blessings that we have from God though Jesus Christ.
