Hebrews Epilogue
- 1:1 - 2:4, Divine Nature of the Son (Messiah, Christ)
-
-
God speaks today through his Son
-
You are my Son, Today I have begotten You
-
Let all the angels of God worship Him
-
Of the Son: Your throne O God is forever
-
The righteous scepter is the scepter of Your kingdom
-
THEREFORE, GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU
-
IN THE BEGINNING YOU LAID THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH
-
THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS
-
THEY WILL PERISH, BUT YOU REMAIN
-
YOUR YEARS WILL NOT COME TO AN END
- FOR THIS REASON
-
-
We must pay closer attention to what we have heard (from the Son)
-
So that we do not drift away
-
-
- 2:5 - 2:18, The humanity of Christ
-
-
Since we have flesh & blood,
-
he (Jesus) too, had to be made like us in all things,
-
suffering in death & suffering when tempted,
-
so that he might become a merciful & faithful high priest,
-
to make [atonement] for our sins.
- Therefore,
-
-
He is able to help those who are being tempted.
-
So consider Jesus, the Apostle (of our confession) & High Priest of our confession
