The Holy Spirit - Ever Present
If we look at the personal ministry of Jesus Christ, we see the activity of the Holy Spirit is more evident than at His birth. At his immersion the Spirit was present, and active. When Jesus came up out of the water, the spirit came upon Him in the form as of a dove. (Luke 3:21-22). The result of this is seen in:
Now full of the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan, and was being led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted by the Devil for forty days. And he ate nothing in those days, and being completed, later he hungered.
The imperfect tense is used here, showing us that the Holy Spirit of God is always a continuing presence with Jesus. We also see this in Luke 4:14, after the completion of His temptation. And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee.
We need always remember that the Holy Spirit is in constant contact with you and I at all times, and is powerful in us today to carry us through all temptations that come our way.
God is Good,
Love you all in Jesus name Amen.
