The Real Meaning of Inspiration

Inspire Defined

The word “inspire” has many meanings today, but in the New Testament it has a singular meaning. The word is found in:

2 Timothy 3:16

"All Scripture is God breathed and is profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for education which is in righteousness."

In the original Greek the word translated "inspiration" literally means "God-breathed." This clearly shows that the scriptures are a divine product. This being true, Paul can appeal to the scriptures as being accurate, reliable, relevant and useful. It is not the purpose of this work to prove the doctrine of inspiration but simply to see the Spirit’s relation to this action of God.

Kevin’s 2cents:

All Scripture is inspired by God, Or as translated, God Breathed. Not some, not most, but all Scripture. As Christians we are to continue to "fight the good fight of Faith" and continue to remind not only theworld but those of us whom God has called to be saved.

God is good. Love you all.
