The Spirit and Inspiration

What is the Spirit’s exact relation to the inspiration of the word of God? This can be best seen from four lines of investigation:

  1. The claim that Old Testament writers were spokesmen of the Holy Spirit.

  2. The statements of the Savior, Apostles, and Prophets in agreement with these claims.

  3. The promise of divine guidance Jesus made to His Apostles, in regard both to themselves and to their message.

  4. The repeated claim of the Apostles and Prophets that they were speaking and writing the eternal truth of God through the Holy Spirit that had been given them.

Kevin’s 2 cents

As we continue our study of the Holy Spirit. I hope we are all starting see that He is an important part of the God Head and not a messenger from God. But that He is one of the Important Persons of the God Head. So there are no degrees of the God head, and I hope our study and our thoughts convict us not to think this way or in this manner. He has been from the beginning, because He was before the beginning. He was active in the Old Testament as we have seen, and was active in the coming of the Kingdom (Joel 2:28-32). And is still active in our lives today.
