The Spirit and Inspiration

What is the Spirit’s exact relation to the inspiration of the word of God? This can be best seen from four lines of investigation:

  1. The claim that Old Testament writers were spokesmen of the Holy Spirit.

  2. The statements of the Savior, Apostles, and Prophets in agreement with these claims.

  3. The promise of divine guidance Jesus made to His Apostles, in regard both to themselves and to their message.

  4. The repeated claim of the Apostles and Prophets that they were speaking and writing the eternal truth of God through the Holy Spirit that had been given them.

Kevin’s 2 cents

As we will see,

  • the claims of the Holy Spirit were indeed with the Old Testament Writers.

  • And that Jesus’ statements to His apostles were in agreement with those of the Prophets.

  • We will see that the promises to His apostles were of divine guidance in regard to His and their message.

  • And last but not least, the repeated claims of both the prophets and apostles were speaking and writing the eternal truth of God through His Holy Spirit.

Thank you all for your love for our Lord Jesus Christ and His Divine Word.

Yours In Christ always,
